Hey everybody!

I just moved out to VA from the Oregon, and I'm now actively looking for a civic wagon. Back home I drove a 1988 4wd subaru justy which really got me on the "ugly" sub compact scene. I loved my last car, but the parts availability leaves a lot to be desired, so I'm switching over to the civic wagon. The first time a wagon REALLY caught my eye was wagon attack II (quite possibly the best youtube video ever right?), but I digress...

I'm going to be out of the area for about a month so I'm planning to buy around early September. What I'm wondering is: what should I look for in these cars? Common problem/wear areas? Best year? What should I expect (bodywise) on a 20 year old car on the east coast?

Don't feel limited to these questions! I'm anxious to learn as much as I can before I buy.

The way craigslist looks for wagons that might be my best bet. How much should I expect to pay for a good running 90-91 rt4wd?

No better way to get to know a new car than a road trip :D All my extended family lives in Jersey so I was planning a stop there anyway!

Just found this one too, but it seems more like it'd sell before September:

I'm gonna call the guy tonight. Does 1000 sound reasonable for that car? how many miles do these things typically go? I'm thinking I might offer him his full asking price if he'll hold it until the 10th.

Edit: its an automatic

Times are hard i would offer $700-800. The car has some issues ( hard to start, piping, and he said in the post make a reasonable offer). If he says no, then offer $1000 if you really want it.
